As of mid-September 2015, Thursday night open shop in Human-Powered Machines has been put on pause while we catch up on some special projects.
Have an Idea for a bicycle related project? Need the tools and some guidance to make your idea reality?
CAT is offering this unique educational experience to the Eugene area community while providing access to our fully equipped fabrication facility! We have a full Metal Shop including:
- CAD Lab
- Milling Machines
- Tube Benders
- Powder coating
The hourly fee is $10 for use of the facility. If you need technical assistance, our staff will provide useful and knowledgeable assistance at an additional $18.00 per hour prorated in 5 minute increments.
The goal is to assist the local community in making bicycle related items. Past or current projects include a city frame, lugged frame, recumbent, bike rack and fenders. We take you through the design and fab processes. Upon completion of your project you will leave with confidence and skills- not to mention a tangible and useful item.
Jan VanderTuin will be instructing this class. The founder of Human Powered Machines, Jan has built many prototypes, taught youth and adults for over 20 years and loves to see people make things -especially useful stuff.
