About Trips for Kids- CAT
One of the best things about Eugene is its proximity to the mountains—the rugged peaks, the towering trees, the rushing rivers. But for many of Eugene’s youth, the great outdoors are just out of reach because many kids don’t have access to the transportation, equipment and experience that adults take for granted. We intend to change that through something we love—bikes.

Trips For Kids-CAT (TFK-CAT) is a partnership between Trips for Kids (www.tripsforkids.org) and the Center for Appropriate Transport. For almost 19 years, Trips for Kids has been helping city youth discover the joy of mountain biking. With chapters throughout the United States and Canada, TFK reaches out to over 5,400 youth each year by providing materials, inspiration and experienced guides for mountain bike adventures.

TFK-CAT will provide mountain bike activities and environmental education to local teens that might otherwise not experience such activities. As a non-profit, TFK-CAT is the first Trips for Kids organization in the state of Oregon.

Day trips through Trips for Kids generally range from $25-60 and include transportation, bikes, helmets, water bottles, lunch and guides to some of Oregon’s best mountain biking trails.
